I NEED to make this! (No, not today)

Happy Saturday...Teens left early am to set up for the church Valentine's Dinner (which hubby and I will attend tonight), the youngest is at a sleepover = NO KIDS! :) Sink is empty, clothes are washing, floor is swept...my room is the "catch all" spot...but that can wait. I'll be knitting today, then spending time with hubby here at home...just relaxing.
BUT...I found this great pattern...the Booga Bag by Black Sheep Bags. Isn't it awesome? Simple, cute, and as I'm a bagaholic, I think it NEEDS to be bumped into my knitting project list. However, this means I NEED to hit the shop I found: Ewe'll Love It, and get 3 skeins of Noro Kureyon. Do I have time for this? the resources? No. I need to wait...and I can. :) But I will make it. Soon. I haven't felted before (gasp). Well, except for felting a ball years ago for one of the children.

Knitty Stuff

I blocked the cute cherry red bookmark that I made yesterday (see blog below for credit to Juli!) and it's too cute...I still need to sew buttons on it, but not crazy about the ones I've chosen...so still looking for some flat, funky buttons. I also picked up a package at the Post Office for me...a sight unseen Vera Bradley straw tote bag...it looked cute on ebay, but it's HUGE!!! I need something smaller...I like this one, so I guess I'll try to make my own next week.
I'm casting my Lover's Leap BMFA yarn today for a pair of socks...pattern decision is STILL up in the air...need another cup of coffee to make the choice! :)

Thursdays Ramblings...

What a day! Packed full, and I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. Our homeschool high school drama group is producing the play "I Remember Mama" in May, and I'm involved with the prop crew.
A great group of kids, and my eldest plays Papa. I gave the prop crew mini M&M's to keep them energized! After rushing to mail a Knitty VD swap package, I ran home to make a chicken/tortellini with spinach soup, and I was able to sneak out (with hubby's blessing) with a friend to head to an awesome knit shop..."Ewe'll Love It" in Nashua, NH. What a place. I felt every skein that I could. My brain is in "yarn overload", but I'll be back there Sat. morning, with my list in hand! I really liked the Colinette "Jitterbug" sock yarn, and their selection of patterns, books, and the general layout of the store...it's huge. I'm also thinking of trying a pattern out of Victorian Lace Today, but not until I get this cardigan and a pair of socks done.
The highlight of the trip to the LYS was good fellowship time with my friend, a hot cup of DD coffee, and a chocolate dipped pretzel.
OH...BY THE WAY...The Lantern Moon small project bags are wonderful! So soft, beautiful but simple, and perfect for sock knitting. I know, because C surprised me with one in a beautiful sheen of purple.
I've been knitting a cute little bookmark out of #10 Cherry Red crochet thread from an easy pattern from Juli's Jots, on size 0 needles. What a nice way to break in these new rosewood DPNs. I'm blocking it tonight, then sewing on a few flat decorative buttons. My eyes are not used to small needles, but I'd better get used to them for the next socks.

Chocolate is ALWAYS appreciated!

A big thank you to my secret pal in the Knitty Rutabaga swap...I received a lovely angel card and a nice bar of luscious organic milk chocolate. Yum... and none left over for the kids. :)

Don't be Chicken!

Don't be "CHICKEN" to frog! Once again, I frogged this simple lacey cardigan for quite a few rows...I'm not sure if I had to, but it really bugs me when I'm a stitch off...so now we're back on track.
P.S. My Knitty Mellow Secret Pal is wonderful! (Thank you for sending me notes and e-cards! They are very much appreciated... :)

Super-Frogging Sunday (aka Superbowl Sunday)

Do I watch football? I must admit that I only look at it because I love my hubby. So...the Superbowl is on (or, what's left of it after we returned from church tonight)...and I've been frogging rows and rows of my nubby purple back scoop cardigan...the one I thought "I'd whip up"in a few days...HA HA! :) I keep making the mistake of talking and simple picot CO and BO, and lose a few stitches ....not the results I want. So..I frogged back a few HOURS of knitting and then I'm going to be careful. Right. I still don't see how I made such simple mistakes...it must have been the talking.
I celebrated Superbowl Sunday as any good Knitter should...I went to church today, and went to the LYS Superbowl Sale on Saturday...with C, my partner in crime/shopping sprees. We ran up to The Elegant Ewe, and bought a few goodies for ourselves, I'm ashamed to admit.
Here's a beautiful and soft and "feel good" skein of yarn...the digital doesn't do it justice...but it's a yummy pink and brown....soon to be socks.
Pet Peeve of the Day: Ordering rosewood circulars, waiting patiently, and when the box comes...the shipping receipt says "out of stock." Grrr... I wish I was notified BEFORE the box arrived. :)
Blessing of the Day: Too many to count; but I enjoyed fellowshipping with a few of the young adults today, and having time to frog my project!
